Away, Santiano!

Alright, here it is- many doings done soon.

So I've graduated from college now, (hoorah!) and will be looking into grad schools Any Minute Now. It is exciting, true, though it's passed a little wordlessly at least in terms of this small space. Perhaps I shall ruminate upon it at some other time. My ruminations are my own, now, after all.

In the few weeks intervening between graduation and now, I've gone over and re-edited "Ave" yet again. As it starts to look like a single work, I get a better and better idea how to shore it up, make it sound more story-like, and generally a better idea of where I'm going in the next part.

Speaking of the next part, the last month or so of wandering around Ave's story has also presented me with something more like the epilogue I desire- which means I finally have the launching point for the next part that I needed. I think I know where I'm going, and I've even got some ideas of how to get there. Work on that has already commenced, and will continue in earnest Any Minute Now.

It'll have to wait for a while though, as (and here's the most relevant announcement) I'm going to be spending something the next month or two sailing tall ships. Two weeks aboard the Kalmar Nyckel in Delaware and some indeterminate time aboard the Lady Washington in Puget Sound. Before that there will be a brief but awesome road trip, and you can expect to hear any moment of a joint conquest of a certain island, and its magical inhabitants (we've scheduled it, sometime before a trip to some museums). So yes, much more time spent in internet silence, but all in the name of that most glorious of ladies, ADVENTUUUUUURE!

Departure is imminent (a day or so), so if I do not respond to you, rest assured it's only due to absence of internet access.

As for the preceding silence, I apologize for it. Precipitous change has left me with very little to say, and much to consider. Returning home is an interesting experience all in itself, and always leaves me somewhat flat-footed. That may very well be the subject of my ruminations while away. I'll be sure to let you know if I think anything interesting :)

Anyway, sorry to leave such a dearth of activity, only come back bearing the news of another! I will say hello upon my return.

Well wishes to you!

It's time for us to roll and go!

-Kitten

A kitten and a ball of twine
An idle game of fear and trust
Five fathoms of the black silk line
Knotted tight, pulled taut with lust

Played on a supple form supine
Knotted tight, pulled taut with lust
The dam-burst flood of light divine

Played on a supple form supine
This long, meandering tune of mine

A kitten and a ball of twine

Pan-TOOM! And the battle continues.

Well, I wanted to come back and say something more 'decent' than befreo, but Ive read over quite a lot of your poems so far, and to be quite honest with you, I am rather ashamed that I cannot find the words within me to express how good I think you are... erm, so there you go... . Im very, hmm... 'impressed' is the wrong word, although I am, very much. But I would say more, inspired, or possibly in awe. Its uplifting and a breath of fresh air

Well, I'm pleased you could find some good to get out of them; it makes me very proud to hear that they've helped inspire someone. Frankly, I've had trouble thinking of what to say in response to your generous comments, so I hope there's no reason to feel shame at being at a loss for words. (I'm notoriously untimely and sparse with comments anyway, so I do apologize for making you wait). I can assure you, I'm generally just flattered enough that you took the time to comment :)

So thank you very much! It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed my poems! Thank you, again!

Mr. Holmes thanks you for your letter. At the moment he is in retirement in Sussex, keeping bees.
-Reply of a bank at 221B Baker Street, London, in response to 4 or so letters addressed daily to fictional sleuth Sherlock Holmes
You are more than welcome. When someone with such a natural talent for writing comes along it can make one seem like an intruder in the world of poetry when reading their words. Much like the feeling gained from reading Keats or Poe. I will be watching for more :)

I would comment on your poems, but as with both yourself and TacticalAdvantage, I am rendered somewhat speechless. I am in awe.
Ha HA!

I'll follow my rubber-chicken parry with THIS!

...A sort of rubber-chicken assault that exceeds the metaphors made available by conventional munitions.
